Are you one of the many men who want to try yoga but feel too uncomfortable joining a regular class? I started my men only class 2 years ago and today I am so proud to say that today, more than half of my students I teach currently are men!
I am passionate about making yoga accessible to men. In fact, yoga was originally created by men for men. Men benefit from yoga just as much as women as it aids both physical and mental health.
As your physiology works so differently to women, from posture / how you hold your body to the way you move, your range of mobility and flexibility etc, attending a men-only yoga class means it is more prescriptive to your specific needs.
UNLOCK YOUR BODY WITH YOGA!
As we get older, we feel increasingly ‘locked’ in our bodies. And this is one of the biggest reasons why yoga can help you! It helps to free you in your body so you can move more easily and without pain, helps prevents injury (particularly from sport), builds all-over body strength; and releases stored stress / tension in body and mind, enabling you to approach your mat (and life!) with more ease.
TESTIMONIALS
“As someone who has experienced chronic back pain for many years, I was recommended to try yoga by my GP. As a total beginner, I didn’t feel comfortable attending a regular class and was referred to Kate by my neighbour. I have found it totally transforming for my back pain as well as my mental health. The highlight for me was being able to play tennis again this summer for the first time in 2 years.” Paul
“As a professional boxer, I wanted to try yoga to develop flexibility and improve my performance. When I started training with Kate, I liked her streamlined, no-nonsense approach. I have now been training with Kate for around one year and I am surprised by how much more strength and agility I have in my whole body.” Adam
“When I attended Kate’s men-only class, I had never done yoga before. With a pretty stiff body, I was keen to get a bit more flexible. Kate made me feel at ease. Fast forward 2 years and I am still attending Kate’s classes pretty much every week (currently online!!). Particularly through lockdown, this has provided me with an invaluable opportunity to exercise in a way that helps me both physically and mentally. I have become stronger, more flexible and now feel at home on a yoga mat. If you are keen to try yoga and fancy a men-only class, i highly recommend Kate.”
